Ambra Tescione’s understanding of disability and social services isn’t theoretical — it was built firsthand, across two countries with fundamentally different approaches to care.

She trained and began her career in Italy’s social services, gaining early professional experience working directly with vulnerable populations and the organizations supporting them in Rome. Italy’s disability system had already undergone a significant shift away from institutional care, with greater emphasis on inclusion within schools, workplaces, families, and community life. Ambra experienced that model in practice — seeing how a system built around community and family-based inclusion functioned day to day.

When she came to Canada, she continued her work in direct community services for over a decade, including with organizations such as Vecova and SCOPE Society of Alberta. Here, she encountered a different system — one shaped by formal funding structures, ministry partnerships, and individualized service agreements.

Working within both systems gave her something rare: a firsthand, comparative understanding of what different approaches to care actually produce for the people relying on them — not as an academic exercise, but as lived professional experience.

That dual perspective also led her back to school. She pursued an Executive MBA not to leave frontline work behind, but to become fluent in both directions: the language of the people being served, and the language of the boards, funders, and executives making the decisions that shape their care.

Bridgepoint Consulting is the result of that path. Ambra founded it to give purpose-driven organizations a consultant who has actually lived inside more than one model of care — and understands what happens between strategy, systems, leadership, and the people those systems are meant to serve.
